See the Beauty of America When You Say Yes to the RV Lifestyle

The RVing lifestyle appeals to people of all ages. Whether you’re freshly out of college and looking for an adventure or newly retired and wanting to experience the open road of freedom, the RVing lifestyle has a lot to offer! With over 9 million households around the country owning an RV (and this number keeps growing every year), there is good reason to believe that traveling by RV is the way to go! See the beauty of America through the windows of your RV and you’ll discover all the treasures just waiting to be uncovered right in our own back yards!

Vacations are about more than just your destination. It’s about the journey, too. And when you travel by RV, you add another level of fun and excitement to your adventure that you won’t find when you’re running through crowded airports to catch a plane or struggling to find an available hotel room for the night. People who choose to vacation the RV way do so because they enjoy their freedom, they value their time, and they love feeling connected to nature. While some may think that RVing is a simpler way of traveling and perfect for those who want to enjoy their days bird watching in the woods or playing dominoes with a tall glass of lemonade, we’re here to prove them wrong! RVing offers you a chance to see the country as you’ve never seen it before, with grizzlies, moose, waterfalls, hot springs, geysers, and more included!

Family Time

One of the most popular reasons that people go RVing is to get away from their hectic, head-spinning schedules at home to spend quality time with their children. With the pace of life seemingly speeding up daily, it’s getting even harder for families to spend time together. Between work, school, and extracurricular activities, parents and kids are like ships in the night, passing with a faint “Good morning” or “Good luck on your math test” as they head their separate ways for the day. Well no more! Americans are putting their feet down and saying "No" to families void of feeling and closeness, and shouting "Yes!" to hitting the road for family getaways! Families are spending their days building awesome sandcastles together in sunny destinations near and far. They’re bonding over riddles and road trip games as they hurtle down the road of life together. They’re gathering around roaring campfires to enjoy family meals for the first time in a long time! They’re all pitching in to make Campfire Chicken & Potatoes after returning to camp after a fun day of hiking and adventure. And they’re building their S’moreos to indulge in while telling scary ghost stories or recalling funny family memories. Even the family pet is included! Loads of campgrounds are pet friendly, so there’s no reason for a tearful goodbye as you drive out of the driveway. Reserve a window seat for your furry friend and you’ll have a ball camping with your pet! Camping brings families together. Parents and kids alike unplug and realize that what is important has been in front of them all along. So while we can’t abandon our crazy, busy lives at home completely, we can choose to leave it behind temporarily in the name of family. And trust us, when you feel the warmth and comfort of your distant family return, you’ll be glad you did.

Affordable Fun

Research shows that traveling by RV can save people up to 70% of costs when compared to traveling by air, cruise ship, or car. Exploring all the national treasures our country has to offer is easy and affordable when you go RVing! Imagine the costs associated with flying your family to one of our national parks and staying for a week. They add up: airfare, overnight accommodations, meals, transportation, entertainment, park passes, and more. This isn’t pocket change. But when you travel by RV, your costs are dramatically reduced. You save money in almost every area of travel when you bring your home away from home with you! Park fees are less per night than hotel rooms. Food is cheaper (and healthier) when you make it yourself in your RV’s kitchen. With your own vehicle, you eliminate the need for taxis or a rental car. When you purchase an America the Beautiful Annual Pass, you have access to over 2,000 federal recreation sites across the country for just $80! Exploring the beauty and history of our country doesn’t have to break the bank, and when you go RVing, you’ll have money left over for souvenirs and trinkets that will line the shelves and bookcases in your kids’ rooms for years to come.

Seek Out Adventure

I don’t know about you, but my Midwestern hometown is nowhere near raging rapids or a sky blue ocean filled with amazing sea life. If I want to go white water rafting or on a whale watching trip, I have to head either east or west to do these things. And the easiest way to do this is by hitching up our RV and hitting the road toward the mountains of Montana or the Atlantic coast. Since making camping a part of our lives, we have felt the rumble of the Sturgis, SD, bike rally, hiked through the Catskill Mountains, gone whale watching in Maine, and ATVed through the Twisted Trails Off Road Park in Manistee, MI. We never would’ve done these things if we hadn’t decided to close up our house, stop our mail service, and leave our Midwestern lives behind (even if just for a week) and try something new. Our running list of activities we want to do on future camping trips just keeps growing with each new destination that we plan to visit. Camping has a way of bringing out the inner thrill seeker in even the most cautious people. Once you pull out of your driveway and begin your exciting RVing adventure, you realize that there is so much more to do and explore than just what’s in your own backyard. And the looks on your friends’ and family’s faces when they look through your amazing photos will be priceless!

If you’re an RVer, then you know how amazing camping can be! If you’re considering giving it a try, do it! The RV lifestyle offers amazing experiences that can only be had by those who choose to leave the comforts of home behind and embrace the freedom and excitement of the open road. Open yourself up to the possibilities that await you when you embark on an exhilarating RV adventure!
