With stunning overlooks of the lake and the surrounding landscape, you’ll want to make sure you plan a stop here on your Copper Harbor getaway! If you visit at night, it offers a brilliant view of the stars, and you could even see the Northern Lights if you’re lucky!

Skiing And Snowboarding On Mount Bohemia
This great ski area is located about 14 miles outside of Copper Harbor and is a must-visit spot for ski and snowboard enthusiasts! Not designed for beginners, this area spans more than 500 acres and has 94 runs that are perfect for backcountry skiers and boarders!
If you like to hike, Copper Harbor has some great options for everyone from the causal hiker to more experienced trailblazers! Here are some wonderful trails that you must check out!
-Hunter’s Point Park
The relatively flat trail of Hunter’s Point makes this the easiest of the area! Hunter’s Point Park is located on a small peninsula surrounded by Lake Superior, which gives you great views of the sprawling, beautiful beach as you walk! Keep an eye out for vibrant flowers as well; you might even catch a glimpse of rare orchids! One of the trailheads features a handicap accessible boardwalk along Lake Superior, making this a great activity for all to enjoy!
-Estivant Pines Nature Sanctuary
More of a moderate hike, this nature sanctuary is one of the most popular hikes in the Keweenaw Peninsula! Narrow trails wind over hills, making for a scenic and somewhat challenging hike! You’ll appreciate the wonderful trees, which have been around for hundreds of years! Some are so big that average adults can’t fit their arms around them!
-The Red Trail
This strenuous hike may be more difficult, but it definitely makes up for it with stunning views of the surrounding Copper Harbor area! This hike is a steep one that goes uphill two miles from Lake Manganese up to the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge. This is a popular trail for mountain bikers, if you’d prefer to bike rather than hike!
